For two reasons Presernov Square lies at the very heart of the city. Historically, because it actually has three river crossings centred here and spiritually because it has the landmark of the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. From this point you can also take a tourist train up to the all-pervading Ljubljana Castle from which you can savour the view of the city and the distant surrounding mountains.
